BADR 103 Performing Marine Underwater Survey Works at Abu Qir Port
Zohr Offshore Services continues to support the Abu Qir Port Expansion Project through the deployment of M/V BADR 103 for specialized marine underwater survey operations. The vessel is actively engaged in survey activities in support of DEME Offshore Holding NV, contributing to works associated with their large-scale contract for the Abu Qir Port development in Egypt. These operations are aligned with the dredging and marine construction program that includes the use of DEME’s advanced cutter suction dredgers, including CSD “AMAZON” and the newly introduced CSD “Spartacus.” The underwater survey scope supports critical project requirements related to seabed assessment, dredging accuracy, and quality control across a development that encompasses: Extensive land reclamation works exceeding 1,000 hectares Major dredging activities with depths reaching 23 meters in approach channels and 22 meters in turning basins Handling and monitoring of dredged volumes estimated at over 150 million cubic meters Marine construction works—such as quay wall installation, breakwater construction, and soil improvement—are being carried out by GIECO, DEME’s consortium partner and a leading marine contractor in Egypt. Through the deployment of BADR 103 for underwater survey operations, Zohr Offshore Services reaffirms its capability to deliver reliable marine support and survey services for complex, large-scale offshore and port development projects.
